This is a photograph of a diatom (a microscopic plant) taken afocally through my microscope.  Focus is a bit off, but it was my first attempt at doing this.  I got this specimen from a sample of water from my aquarium.  Magnification is X400

Thanks. Actually, the original photo wasn't all that hot, it was a bit out of focus and that's why I started to play about with it. The joys of digital jiggery-pokery!
