Should Google Chrome Have Ad-Block Built In?

With browsers like Opera blocking Ads by default in their browser, CNET recently posted an article explaining that Google will not be building this feature into their browser.

Lets not forget that Google controls AdSense, one of the (if not the) most popular advertising networks on the internet. That being said, the article explains that Google are putting effort into making better Ads for people rather than completely blocking them from being shown.

Blocking the intrusive ads prevents legitimate funds being earned by content creators that give away their stuff at no charge.

You can of course download a myriad of extensions that can block ads, but should this just be provided by default as it can save time, memory, battery and bandwidth?

What's your stance on this?
Would you be prepared to look at ads if they were served up in a better format?
Maybe with one simple trick?
