Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is a fantasy-themed massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by the Norwegian computer, video game developer company Funcom for PCs. The game launched at 9 p.m. (GMT) on May 17, 2008 in a limited way, being available to those who had pre-ordered the game and registered for early access. The full release of the game for North America was May 20, 2008 and for Europe May 23, 2008 for the PC version.[11] Although originally announced as being available for the Xbox 360, the console version is at least a year behind schedule.

Hyborian Adventures is the first installment in the planned Age of Conan series. Age of Conan itself takes place within the continent of the Hyborian kingdoms, a year after the events depicted in Howard's sole Conan novel, The Hour of the Dragon. Hyborian Adventures' release celebrated the 76th anniversary of the Conan franchise.

Like many other MMO games, there is a monthly subscription fee. The suggested retail price of an Age of Conan subscription card is $29.99 (€19.28) for two months. Another available option is a recurring monthly subscription plan paid online by credit card, usually costing $14.99 (€9.63) a month. Discounts can be obtained when subscribing online by purchasing multiple months of play time simultaneously; however, the first month is free.

Oh and it's f****** awesome to. FYI I play as a Herald of Xotli on the Fury PvP server.

Meh, didn't like it so much here. Maybe I'm just not a fan of the PVP, or just too oldschool (still play EQ1!), or that my demonologist was pretty f***ing useless. Same old, same old, nothing special. Good for a couple of months.

ps. If you didn't like my completely and shamelessly biased review, you can look here:

edit: If you were thinking of trying it, you could also use Metacritic to compare to to how some of the other MMOs on the market did.

(Time to argue)

Sure it's not perfect and meele classes are way more fun than just caster. BUT, it nails something that no onther MMO does. Storytelling.

In the first 20 levels all dialog is voiced, the story is really good but man, the humor! I find myself lol'ing all the time and I must say you really feel like you are in the world. Then there is the awesome graphics and the AMAZING sound. Sure it's not that well optimized and sure it's a little buggy. But damn, it's still awesome!

But really, how long do the first 20 levels last? Not very.

Really, it's a matter of opinion. I'm more interested in the actual gameplay, and while doing cool combat moves on your assasin is for for a bit, in the end it's just another button masher. I guess a serious part of the game is PVP, which I don't really enjoy much, I guess I'm just not the target audiance.

Sure you have some points but still, if you are a meele class the combat (with combos) gets complex and really fun after lvl 40. But if you are a caster then it's pretty much the same.

It's not very much, considering the amount of time you can get out of it, compared to say how much it would cost you to go clubbing one night...
