As of 2025:

Vista continued to be unpopular but set the paving stones for Windows 7 which received less backlash, as XP was popular and stable enough that people wanted to roll back.

Following that, Windows 10 up to this point has matured over its 10 year lifespan. Microsoft even pitched it back then as "The Last Version of Windows"

As of today, we're now looking at the "Death date" of Windows 10 being October 14th 2025
