Review: Xbox 360 + Xbox Live

Well, quite some time ago I bought myself a Xbox 360, Which is, if you didn’t know, a game console with a very wide selection of games. And after playing the Xbox 360 for about 2 hours, I fell in love.

The controller
Xbox 360 Controller
The controller fits perfectly in my hand, All buttons are aligned perfectly with my fingers, and not to mention, its wireless. The controller consists of 2 joysticks, 4 buttons, a D-Pad, and 4 triggers. All of these buttons are within easy access during game-play. There are also 3 buttons in the middle to access the in-game menus. The only complaint I have about this controller is that the batteries run out really fast. But this can be fixed with a rechargeable battery pack.

The Console Looks
Xbox 360 Comparison
If you didn’t know, the console is the main box of the game system. And I must say, I believe that the look of the console is just amazing. Although I have the white version of the console, I do like the black console alot more. The colors of the console match up perfectly, and just go together very well. No complaints here.

The Noise and Heat
Don’t you hate it when you put in a DVD and it makes a constant Buzzing noise while the DVD is spinning? Well, With the Xbox 360 Disc reader, which also reads DVD’s, you will never get this problem. This console is virtually silent. But does amit a large amount of heat, but the Xbox is well-equipped, With 3 sets of fans that properly vent out the heat. The only complaint I have is that if the Xbox is set on its side, it is prone to overheating.

The User-Interface
Xbox 360 NXE
With every console, operating system, or electronic device, you are most likely going to get a User-Interface(UI) Which is what the user sees. The user-interface of the Xbox 360 (Codename : NXE) is very very slick. It contains several tabs, which then contain “sub-boxes” which you can slide across the screen to select different options. The user-interface is very nice and fast as well, the only complaint I have is that it lags at times.

Xbox Live
Xbox Live
Now for what Xbox is known for : Xbox live. Which is pretty much Xbox’s fancy term for “Playing online”. Xbox live also allows you to create profiles and add friends from across the world. Xbox live has 2 memberships :
Silver Membership: The silver membership is free, but lacks many features. Although the silver membership does allow you to create your own profile and add friends, it does not allow you to download exclusive content, or play games online.
Gold Membership: The gold membership is not free, but allows you to download game demos, exclusive content, and much more. It also allows you to play games online with your friends. This will cost you a hefty $49.99 a year, but well worth it.

Overall Xbox live is very smooth, and very fast. I’ve never had a “lag moment” or any other moment with Xbox live, and I am very happy with it.

The Xbox 360 has very good graphics, smooth gameplay, and lots of games. Not to mention, great Quality and a very strong processor. I am very happy with this product.

Performance : 10/10
User-Interface : 9/10
Comfort : 10/10
Price : 8.5/10

Overall : 9.5/10
