News: New Features Added In Latest YouTube Update

During the latest update, Google has added a few new features to YouTube. They’re quite useful so I thought I’d show them (even though they’re quite obvious to people who go on YouTube often)

First of all, and I think this is new, YouTube has added the ability to download your insight data. It comes in a .zip and there’s 2 files. Both are .CSVs, which are Microsoft Excel documents (may work in OpenOffice, etc.) Thanks Alex S. .CSV???

Next up, YouTube alerts and warnings. If you’ve ever changed your settings on a video or been to a suspended account, you’ve probably seen a big text banner on the top of the YouTube page, just under the main ‘bar’. Well they’ve all been changed! They now have a more sleek look. Don’t know what I mean by more sleek? Just look at this picture.

Now,  channel modification changes. If you’re signed into it, you will see an “edit channel” bar underneath the main bar with search, etc. Now, there is a new tab named “Videos and Playlists.” This is exactly the same as what the edit button did (the one outside of the bar.) That has been replaced by “Arrange Uploads.” This is where you can arrange your first 6/12 uploads.

Finally, the ability to delete videos from your subscriptions box (not subscriptions page, sadly.) As you can see by this video by CTFxC, there is an X in the corner of the video’s thumbnail. This lets you delete the video so it will disappear from your Don't delete CTFxC!subscriptions box. Great way to stop the glitch where videos don’t go from your subscription box.

There’s probably a few more updates but there are no posts about these new features on YouTube’s official blog, so they have come as a surprise.

Thanks for reading,

Tommy!
