Review: AVA – Alliance of Valiant Arms
Alliance of Valiant arms is a free online first person shooter, by IJJI. It is supported via micro-payments with a currency called “G-Coins” 10 G coins is equal to One American Dollar, or .6 pounds.
It is advertised as a “ high quality FPS in an urban setting” (Link: http://ava.ijji.com/) And, I couldn’t agree more. The graphics are very high quality when maxed out, and even when set to low the game looks spectacular. As of writing it is about two weeks out of beta, (I believe, don’t quote me on that) So not all hardware is supported, such as crossfire, which can occasionally cause a crash. The game currently has a variety of guns for each class, the three classes being Point-man, (A close range SMG user) Rifleman, (A medium range rifle user, a balance) and sniper (A long range, nearly insta-kill class) Most of the classes guns can be customized, and the game supports painting of guns, though it isn’t yet released. This game is by all means balanced, and no class is overpowered, in my opinion.
You can upgrade armor, helmet, uniform, boots, gloves, the list goes on. Obviously, if you buy G-coins, you can get more powerful gear, allowing you to dominate. But, even then I still believe the game is balanced. There is a clan system in place for groups, and many game-modes. As of writing, there is:
- Escort (Stop A tank from reaching your base by use of RP-G’s, destroying the tank. Though the other team can repair it)
- Demolition (You either have to plant the bomb, on offensive and wait for it to go off, or stop the other team from planting it. If they bomb has been planted, it can be disabled.
- Alternatively you annihilate the enemy team for a quicker victory), and annihilation (essentially death-match, the first team to reach 100, 150, or 180 kills wins.) There are several maps, and is over all a very enjoyable game worth trying. It’s fresh, doesn’t really get boring, and the developers are constantly working on new updates.
