Google has released another service – Google OneBox Music. OneBox Music has been released to the US only but is likely to release worldwide in the future. Google has partnered with music sites MySpace, Lala, Pandora, iMeem, and Rhapsody to enable indexed music search using Google. The idea of Google OneBox is very simple, find and discover your music. Search for your favourite artists, albums, tracks and preview and purchase songs. Listening to songs is also simple, search for artists, albums or songs. Preview buttons open a widget to listen to your song or a choice of four popular songs from an artist. Google has released a feature video also explaining the concept of Google OneBox.

I would like to say if Google is not to be offering tracks themselves, it begs the question that where will the samples be coming from? The two providers mentioned, Lala and iLike, or Google's own servers? The answer to that could be interesting, relative to Google's long term plans.
